Have you ever experienced stage fright? The crippling fear that grips you when you have to do a daunting task? There are times when we feel we aren’t good enough. We feel less and think less of ourselves. Why do we do that?
Alas, it is not by the spirit of God that we feel these things. The enemy does not want us to do the great things we were foreordained to. That is part of the test. We will be targeted to be maimed and unable to act.
That is why it is called crippling fear because we are literally disabled to do the things which we have to in order to accomplish a task. There are things that we have to get over. Our life consists of chapters of trials that we have to overcome. To close the chapters, we must be able to get over the spirit of fear and win against the wiles of the enemy.
Our enemy is ourselves. There is an african proverb that says, “If there is no enemy within, the enemy outside can do you no harm.” That is what we are fighting against, the enemy from within ourselves. That enemy will be a tiny voice that says “you can’t”. It is our job to shut our ears to those lies and trust in our God-given potential that we are more than capable of doing great things.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (Timothy 1:7)
God has given us so much more than we know. He has given us the spirit of faith. If we put that faith and trust in Him and shut out the enemy, then these gifts will manifest unto us. Miracles happen after the trial of faith.
