God is speaking, and you can hear His voice. Christianity is a relationship; every relationship is established and maintained through communication. It is vital that you learn to hear the voice of God, so that you may deepen your relationship with our heavenly Father. Our creative God is not limited to one form of communication. He
is all-powerful; He is omnipresent; He is sovereign. The Bible is filled with accounts of God speaking to individuals, to families, and to nations. In the past, He spoke in many different ways. That is true today as well. The Holy Spirit dwells within us, but it is still necessary to nurture our relationship with our heavenly Father in order to learn how to be attentive to His voice. As we grow in faith and mature as a believer, we will learn to hear God speak. The Bible is one of His provisions to equip you to do His will. His Word is alive; it is active in your life. The Bible is an absolutely essential part of our walk with God. We must not neglect God’s Word. It is one way that God speaks to us personally.
Honoring and obeying His Words is a key to hearing the voice of God. And through obedience, you can demonstrate your love for Him and failure to obey is a reflection of a rebellious heart. If you resist God’s word, your fellowship with Him will be limited.
Master Prophet E. Bernard Jordan believes that God also speaks to you when you pray, most of us have mistaken the idea that the purpose of prayer is to change His mind. Prayer is His means of getting through to you, so that you can do things for Him. He takes your focus off of your needs and puts your focus on His love and power. And through prayer, He changes your perspective to conform for God’s purposes; God establishes His priorities for your life.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)
