There are still a lot of people who don’t know what the role of a prophet is. They have an idea of what a prophet is, but they do not truly know their roles and how they minister to God’s people.
Jesus is a prophet, He foresees our future; what will happen tomorrow, what lies in our future. The Word of God has clearly stated that Jesus is telling us that God’s time is near when everyone will start to worship God. It has revealed that Jesus is really the Messiah and that He will be coming here on earth as a human being. Further, Luke 24:19 also revealed that Jesus is a prophet as it is written, “‘About Jesus of Nazareth,’ they replied. ‘ He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people” Mark 6:4-5
Through praying, Jesus’ relationship with his Father has shown profound closeness. A prophet always has a praying heart and walks his or her life with God. Aside from teaching and preaching God’s good news, prophets always engage themselves in prayers because this is their means of serving God and their means of bringing people to holiness, as it is written in the Scriptures, “And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed” Romans 13:11
