How much work do you do everyday? We all need balance in our lives. We cannot do just our jobs or just go on vacations. We must set a pattern for our lives that will help us live better and also take care of the mortal frames that we have been so graciously given.
The human body is a wonder; a miraculous masterpiece of systems and organs, each having their own function and one not being able to exist without the other. It’s a support framework that we should pattern our own lives to as well. “And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.”( 1 Corinthians 12: 26) We must take care of our body as a whole.
God wants us to take care of ourselves. On earth, He placed medicinal plants, healthy herbs and sources of good food, that we may be able to know how to care for our spiritual vessel which is the physical body.
Although God has given us this precious resource, it is our responsibility to know how to use it.
We must use our limbs and our senses to be able to provide ourselves a healthy meal for consumption; we must increase our knowledge so that we may use the herbs to treat injury or the many diseases that afflict mortality; and also we must not forget to give the body its much needed rest. It must be able to have adequate sleep and also enough exercise to keep it strong, healthy and ready to fulfill the works that the Father would want us to do.
