While reading and pondering the Holy Scriptures, we can come across a lot of different passages that may strike us more than others. Reading really helps us address the matter at hand and it warms the soul. If you’re looking for growth, it provides thoughts to ponder on as well. An example could be this verse:
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. (James 1:27)
How do we keep ourselves unspotted from the world?
We do that by following the example of Christ. He has given us a commandment. Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.(Matthew 5: 48) It seems like a really hard thing to ask from human nature. But God trusts in our divine heritage that we can be able to rise above the pollution of the world and continue to work for our inheritance.
The blessings of heaven can be felt here on earth, but the fullness of the blessings come after our life here. When we have proven ourselves worthy to stand.
So every day, progress never ceases as we find more ways to continue improving ourselves by continuing to read the scriptures and ponder upon the messages it contains. You will see that life does not end when we are satisfied, but it goes on to help us grow until we are able to do the tasks that God asks of us. Until we are ready and fit to serve in His kingdom.
